🚀 7 questions to accelerate your career

Hi Reader,

Throughout my career, I've gathered a few powerful questions that helped me attract feedback, build trust with difficult stakeholders, be seen as a team player, and get promoted faster.

I recommend asking these to your manager, colleagues, and mentors at least once a month:

Ques #1

"How can I support my team better?"


Why it works: Positions you as someone keen on creating a win-win situation for everyone.


Ques #2

"How would you rate my performance/idea on a scale of 0 to 5?"


Why it works: When stakeholders hesitate to give you honest feedback, this question makes it easy for them to share their thoughts.


Ques #3

"What challenge should be my major focus right now?"


Why it works: Rather than trying to "be all, do all", when you prioritize 1 thing, your manager gets visibility into the impact you drive. This question helped me get pivotal roles in several high-stakes projects.


Ques #4

"What can I do to make your job easier?"

Why it works: It makes you stand out and strengthens your relationship. They know you care.



Ques #5

"Who do you think is awesome at [a skill]?"

Why it works: Abstract feedback doesn't work. The answer to this question helps you pinpoint exactly what your next level could look like.



Ques #6

"If you were me, what’s the first thing you’d try to change?"

Why it works: Helps get an actionable roadmap instead of abstract feedback.


Ques #7

"What would make you “love” this instead of just “like” it?"

Why it works: This question single-handedly helps you stretch your problem-solving skills.
